Whose Ready For The Break

I am. So I just did a whole page of a tumblr post, clicked “create post”, and the it went to an Internet Error page. So I clicked back, and of course NONE of it was there. Even though this break is going to be short, I can’t wait for it. What am I doing for my break? Anything that catches my short attention span.
In all honesty my attention will probably be on preparing for next quarter. I’m starting to realize that our classes run together depending on what field your in. Another way of saying it is that it’s almost expected that we take what we learned in our previous classes and take those skills with us into the next classes.  I have Animation for Game Art, Intro to Game Art, Advanced Life Drawing, and the only one I’m worried about, Physics. Needless to say I can;t wait for this break and next quarter.

This last week and this weekend have been intense. My birthday on the 12 then the Saint Patties Parade and all followed up by Finals.  Somewhere in this mist of this all was also a big game week. God of War 3, Final Fantasy 13, and …Pokémon. For individuals who are not as knowledgeable in games these three games are more than huge. All of this within a short time period which, again, just so happened during are final weeks. I did get both GOW3 and FF13, but Pokémon just really isn’t my taste. I played Final Fantasy 13 up until God Of War 3 came out and then I was nothing more than a primitive animal. Without ruining or spoiling anything for anyone the game was amazing from graphics to story, from Mount Olympus to Hades and back to Mount Olympus again. After getting my daily blood lust dose of Kratos Revenge I moved on to interfering (pressing) matters. FINALS. For my Photoshop class we have/had to make a movie poster for our finals. We’ve had like three weeks to do it, including finals week. After we create it, we then have to get it professionally printed. He actually stated that this project will treated as professional project and will be giving out only three A’s. I WANT THAT A!!! The process of getting started was kind of tough but that’s just me. This was a project I really put a lot into so therefore ever step I made was an important one. I don’t to give away my process, but I’m pleased with the results. I only had one more final. ENGLISH!!!! I don’t hate English it’s just more thought provoking than other subjects. We had/have to do a 5 page essay on problem or issue at hand in Pittsburgh. Picking an issue was very loose and more than open. I choose homelessness. It’s still a work in progress, but it’s getting there. It’s probably what I should be working on now!!

ARGUMENATIVE/Thesis

I started brain storming with friends and the I moved on to the internet looking for problems within the Pittsburgh community. I found that homelessness is a problem. Not only that but I’ve witnessed it firsthand.

I want to argue that there shouldn’t be homeless people. How do you become homeless? You choice it or you’re having a hard time in your life and you give up. To put it another way they are lazy. Individuals who are homeless should never give up.

I discussed this with a friend just to get some thoughts out and I ended saying that “true homeless people are lazy.” His retort was the movie Pursuit of happiness where Will Smith portrays the true story of a man who ends up in poverty with his son and eventually overcomes this. My argument back to him was that the man Will Smith portrayed overcame his situation and therefore he isn’t a typical homeless person.

After that I thought about what someone might say against my argument and I came up with something. “What about homeless children. They didn’t choose to be homeless.”
In this cause, it is some sort of child services job to take care of and look out for.

Another argument might be “What about people who have their home foreclosed and etc.”
It would depend on how they react to this situation. If they give up, they are falling in line to be another homless (lazy) statistic, but if they do something then they’re doing the right thing.

“What about people who just can’t help themselves.”
I realize this doesn’t work for every situation but when you’re in a bad situation you should weigh all of your options. One option would easily be to seek out family help.

Some people on the other hand don’t have the luxury of options in which case we (non homeless individuals) come in and help them.

So between Child Services, not giving up, family and several help options, and Us (non homeless individuals) as the fall back, their should not be homeless.

I plan to take this opinionated information of mine and flush it out, while looking for additional facts to support my argument and relate it to Pittsburgh.

My Issues

#1: THE SNOW

I don’t see why a small town like Wellsboro can keep their streets clean of snow, but somehow a whole city like Pittsburgh can’t. How does that make sense

#2:  Homeless people/ Hobo’s

To be homeless is simply to choose to be homeless. Even though that’s enough said I want to say that there is no legit sob story reason for being homeless. If you don’t want to be homeless then do something about it right?

#3: Pittsburgh Sports/ Fan sportsmanship

Somebody already mentioned this, but I have a different aspect. When I played sports it was drilled into us to have a sportsmanship attitude so it’s my belief that fan’s can respect each other just the same. I walk down the street after

Why not a Bad angle

I, like everyone else, had no idea what or where to do an interview on. On top of that if I could find a place to do an interview on then what kind of questions could I ask them, and how can I get an angle out of that. For awhile I just tried to think of various places to do, but they all seeing boring or I just couldn’t figure out what kind of angle I could get out of them.
I talked to my roommates about possibilities, and someone pointed out, “Dude, does it haaaaave to be good interview?” No, it doesn’t. The angle doesn’t have to good. I let sometime pass to let my thoughts marinade. I came up with a place where I had a bad experience.
Ninja Entertainment  is like the Exchange or a GameStop. The store sells new and used games, movies, and related hardware.  The difference between Ninja and the Exchange or GameStop is that Ninja has regular appointments with the police. Besides a sketchy nature, based on both rumors and experience, Ninja has unbelievable crappy customer service.
I’ve decided to write my angle on Ninja having poor service and to show that they don’t need to have any customers. I think this essay with be an enjoyable and interesting  interview to write.

Once upon a time

Once upon a time in far a way land called Pittsburgh there was a foot and half to two feet of Snow and the snow still continued to fall.

Pittsburgh and me

I’ve been in Pittsburgh for three months or so now and it’s been good here.

Only one complaint. IT’S COLD. Not that the cold is confined to Pittsburgh, but

IT’S COLD. Fact: it got below zero when I went home for Christmas break. Zero is

aslight translation of Colder than cold. Since winter has been it’s cold and bitter

self, I haven’t had the opportunity to really to wander the city much. I’ve been to

someplace’s. I’ve been to Southside, Mount Washington, The Waterfront, and most

noted the Fish market.

As far as roommates go It seems like I’m always hearing out of the corner of

my ear “If there was a Mtv True Life: I hate my roommate I’d be on that show.”

Granted I don’t hear it a lot, I hear it none the less. It didn’t turn out that way for

me fortunately. Truth is if we didn’t like each other The Standard Life building

wouldn’t be standing. We’re all straight forward and blunt. We vary in majors but

drop a video game between us and we’ll be like hobo’s on a ham sandwich…(I’m

hungry.)

I’m In the Graphic Design program right now but by the end of this quarter I

aim to be residing comfortably in the Game Art program. In a way I’m not too

worried. The reason I couldn’t get into Game Art in the first place was because of

my spectacular GPA   of 1.8. I know horrible but it’s getting its way up there. I got

an A and three B’s last quarter and it went up to a 2.3.  (This ham sandwich is

reallygood.)On top of all that have neighbors, which are more or less roommates for

thatmatter, that are in the same major I’m aiming for. If I have questions and what

notI can just ask them.

Lets recap. Pittsburgh, great; Winter, cold, suck; Roommates, video games,

ham sandwich; and doing good in school.
